1979 Daihatsu TAFT F20 Canvas Soft Top

1979 Daihatsu TAFT F20 Canvas Soft Top

1979 Daihatsu TAFT F20 Canvas Soft Top

Rare Japanese classic jeep produced by Daihatsu built in 1979, it's a F20 series known as TAFT and Wild Cat in UK, comes with full canvas soft top has original 78k miles, 4x4 Right-hand drive vehicle had power by 1.6L Petrol engine. Very straight and original.

Detail about this car
You are looking at the incredibly rare Daihatsu F20. These where only originally imported to the uk in very small numbers and the majority of them where hardback van versions.

This is the full canvas version which similar to a early land rover can easily be stripped off including the doors and the windscreen folded down.

This little Daihatsu has been in a private collection dry stored since 1999. It has spent nearly all its life in north Wales and was last used on the road in the summer of 1998. It has been regularly coated in spray wax to preserve it.

It’s a very basic little vehicle and is very similar to a early series land rover with tough steel ladder chassis and  leaf springs and drum brakes all around with a transmission brake hand brake. It has selectable four wheel drive with Hi and Low gears for rough terrain.

The chassis and complete underside is in superb condition and has been coated in clear wax regularly and shows no signs of corrosion. The rear bed has had steel plate riveted over the original floor many years ago but looking from underneath the original floor is still very solid.

The bodywork overall is very good for its age with some bubbling along the sills on each side but you can actually get your hand behind the bodywork and it feels solid . There are obviously marks and light scrapes here and there but its that kind of vehicle and overall looks great.

The canvas hood and hood tops are all very good and original .They keep the weather out and the whole thing is watertight.

It has excellent tyres all around with a almost new spare .The wheels are period Weller style and are in good order.

It starts and drives fairly well with excellent gearbox and good working four wheel drive system. It has manual free wheeling hubs  that work fine. The steering is surprisingly light and is very responsive (Better than a land rover anyway). The drum brakes work like drum brakes do (Stop eventually) but would benefit from a good service and adjustment  and possible flush /Air bleed.

The engine is very sweet and strong but due to being unused for 15 years it would benefit from a good service and possibly a carburettor clean out. It starts very easily and will run well but seams to run better with full choke even when warm so there is a minor carb issue somewhere but it would be easier to replace the carb as they are still available.

Quirky & Beloved: The Spirited Saga of the 1970 MGB GT in America

1970 MG MGB GT Comes With Chrome Wire Wheels

The Spirited Saga of the MGB GT: A Love Letter to a Quirky Classic in America

The 1970 MG MGB GT wasn't just a car; it was a time capsule on wheels. It was a rolling ode to British eccentricity that landed smack dab in the middle of America's muscle car era. Think of it as a feisty underdog, a pint-sized challenger to the roaring beasts of Detroit.

Birth of a Legend: The MGB GT Arrives (Stateside)
The story begins in 1962 with the introduction of the MGB, a sleek and stylish roadster that captured the hearts of drivers worldwide. But Americans, ever the practical bunch, craved a little more… shelter. Enter the MGB GT in 1965, a collaboration between MG and the legendary Italian design house Pininfarina. This GT, short for "Grand Touring," offered a fixed roof, a hatchback (sort of, we'll get to that in a bit), and a back seat that could charitably be described as suitable for “smallish adults or enthusiastic luggage.”

The Gem, 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta

1969 De Tomaso Mangusta

Check out this gem: 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta

Check out this gem from the heyday of Italian automotive excellence: the 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta. Picture this: a sleek, rare vintage supercar that's as elusive as it is breathtaking. Only 401 of these beauties were ever made, and today, only around 250 are still cruising the streets.

Now, let's talk about the name. "Mangusta" means mongoose in Italian, the crafty little critter famous for taking on cobras. Rumor has it that De Tomaso considered replacing the iconic Shelby Cobra with a racing car of their own creation. But alas, fate had other plans when Shelby got tangled up with the Ford GT40. Still, word on the street is that De Tomaso might have snagged a few engines from Shelby to kickstart their Mangusta project. Business is business, after all, even between friends like Alejandro de Tomaso and Carroll Shelby.

Original 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI

Original 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI For Sale

Here's a French city car produced by Peugeot, a high-performance variant of the 205 GTI series that comes in 3-door hatchback body styles built-in 1987. The condition is superb, unmolested, and unmodified. Up there with the Mk1 and Mk2 Golf GTI, these are some of the best and most iconic hot hatches of the era, if not of all time, and it’s getting harder every year to find ones as nicely preserved as this example seems to be.

This 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI is an RHD 1.6-liter car described as in mint condition. Present well in the photos, which appears to be all stock including ride height and excellent factory wheels, finished in white, unfortunately, without interior photos are provided.
