The Corvair was produced from 1960 until 1969 by Chevrolet in response to the success of the VW Type 1, 2, and 3 made by German manufacturer Volkswagen in the US market. Competing in the compact car class with the same layout comes with a rear-wheel drive rear engine, the Corvair directly challenges the Volkswagen with many styles that were very popular at that time.

As shown here is a Corvair 4-door station wagon released in 1961, all looks perfect inside and out, it could be one remarkable example of the model on the market today.

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa

The Corsa is a muscle behind the beauty produced between 1960–1969, short live for him. It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine.

Started life as respectable performance machines, but by the end of the run they had become shells of themselves. The 140 horsepower engine with its four carburetors was standard on Corsas.

But for this Corvair has 180 horsepower, 6 cylinder, performance 0-60 mph just need 11 seconds, the standing-start quarter-mile in 18 seconds at 80 mph. Top speed was 115 mph, given enough straightaway; yet gas mileage still averaged around 20 mpg.
