Very Rare Muscle Car, 1977 Pontiac Can Am For Sale
Found this one being offered for sale by the owner on Craigslist for $17500 about two days ago in Scottsdale, Arizona. As shown here one of the rarest American muscle cars was offered by Pontiac only in 1977 known as The Can-Am, based on Pontiac LeMans, and was created to be a special edition with a lot of power embedded into him.This is the second example of its kind ever posted here, Pontiac Can Am they are a rare beast that has a Pontiac 6.6L 400 engine backed by a Turbo 400 transmission, and very few of them can survive for 40 years like this one example. With 65600 miles on it, the body and interior all look great for their age and were present well in photos makes curious me to come closer inspection.
It could be a stunning example of its model that was still run today, and looking for a new home.

When was the last time you saw one of these. This is an extremely rare car. It was known as the family mans trans am. one year only car and one of 1377 built, around 300 known to exist. This one has 65,600 Box A miles on title. Engine was freshened up at 60k. This has the original Pontiac 400 engine. Ice cold factory a/c upgraded to 134A. It has an older repaint, this car is an excellent driver that is mechanically sound and runs cool in the hot az temps. Can be driven as is or the start of a rare limited production car to restore to concurs. Factory AM 8 track included with car as car has an updated modern Bluetooth stereo.
Interior is a sumptuous factory red and very nice condition but dash is cracked, has a custom made red dash cover
Please note this is a survivor car, many of the flaws you see in the cars body were due to poor design and drainage issues.
Very few of these bodies survived the 40 years as well as this one.
This car has a very solid frame and body but it is not a perfect car. I would evaluate it as a very solid 3+ condition.
She drives like a modern luxury car at 80 mph on freeway, front end is tight and car is rattle free.
