I searched for months for the perfect vr6 mk4 on many classifieds and websites and ended up driving about 500 to retrieve this one, I looked specifically for the 5spd 2v because of the longer gearing, and having been around longer than the 4valve vr6 that only started on the mk4 gti's whereas the 2v was on the mk3 and 4 with more parts readily available, widespread, and cheaper. Having the same top speed as the 4v vr6, but on average being much less $. I found this car in North SF bay, and after only a few weeks of driving it, I got tired of the fwd and already want to go back to an FR layout car, all my cars before this were FR as well, something cheap I can drive hard and not feel so bad about. I haven't driven this car hard at all because I felt it was too nice in such good shape with so few miles to ruin.
Car pulls great through turns, I've taken it through skyline drive and angeles crest highway, car puts a smile on my face

Brand new OEM front wheel hubs and wheel bushings with two new super sticky front tires that were $200/piece, with 25/25/25/25 alignment professionally done, all cost about $1400 and tracks perfect, like go kart on rails

front and rear wheel spacers 10mm and 15mm

Tires have about 90 and miles on them and rising as it is my daily, brakes are like new
everything works great, AC, all lights and wipers, sunroof, stereo, no interior rips, sags, or cracks

currently have on OG grill with badge but still have the badge less
cons:
passenger side mirror fell out, but have replacement uninstalled
airbag light on (just needs to be reset with vagcom)
passenger seat does not collapse forwards towards the hood to allow people to crawl in back on passenger side about 1/2 the time. drivers side fine, and no bolsters torn
glove box latch pull broke off but still opens, closes, and locks just fine
