Original 1979 AMC AMX black on black 4-speed V-8 car; Factory black on black, no sunroof. Very rare. Straight and clean rust free survivor car; its been me summer cruiser for the past 14 years. Originally an under-powered late-70's car with great handling characteristics thanks to the big radial TA's and big anti-sway bars.
Now 350+ hp 401 V8 rebuilt and installed with a Ford T5 5-speed manual transmission TMM Racing and low-ratio 3.55:1 posi rear end. Renowned for their torque, this drivetrain pulls hard, but is mild enough to drive in the city. This body-style, has a remarkably short wheelbase and ridiculously small turning radius. Headers, custom exhaust, too much to list... all work professionally done with bills to prove. This car is fast.
This original car is tight and solid. I have owned this car for the past 14 years and have yet to see another one like it on the road. A summer-driven-only BC car, this is one of the finest examples of this model in the country. Rust free, body is original, straight and free of bodywork. Original hood decal. Body and exterior of the car is 9/10. The interior is mostly original with the exception of after market racing seats and momo steering wheel and has yet to be restored. original steering wheel and all factory flares included all in excellent shape.
I have assembled this car over my past 14 year of ownership and it is a blast to drive. Sad to part with my baby, but it needs to go to a good home. This car is no doubt the most fun you can have for the money. Over $20,000 invested.
